Gangagi, John Sherman & Self Realization

March 10, 2009 by · 1 Comment

Beginning in 2002, Dr Lisa began working and learning from the “holes” and SHU’s at California’s “Correctional” System (ie: RJ Donovan State Prison, Corcoran, New Folsom, Old Folsom, San Quenten, and Pelican Bay) and created “Satsung in the Hole” to gather together beings locked up cages 23-24 hours/day in what the prison calls Secure Housing Units (SHU). She gathered with the intention of evoking dialogues about awakening  and cultivating consciousness and  beingness.

Early in her process and through dialogues with the staff at San Quenten, she was led to John Sherman. John was once on the FBI’s most wanted list and spent years in federal prison. Listen to him discuss his old identity, awakening and getting at the truth.

Dr Lisa interviews ex-convict John Sherman about Gangaji, Sri Ramana Maharshi, self-inquiry and beingness.

I happened upon this website and was fascinated by this interview with John Sherman. He seems to have come to the understanding that nothing is everything. I am having a difficult time in my marriage. I don’t want to have sex with my wife anymore. I’m looking for ways to change that. I’ve had a girlfriend who rocks my sexual world but is not good enough to make me leave home. I can’t leave my wife because I don’t want to hurt my daughter. I don’t have a job, I don’t want a job. I’ve been on disability for 2 years for depression. I don’t think they want to pay me anymore. I’m in a house I can’t afford but I’m hanging onto it by my fingernails. I, I, I, I, I, I, I think John Sherman has found peace and oh, by the way, got a job straight out of prison from the women that transformed him with 4 simple words. AWESOME! Who am I? Nothing. Gee whiz do I feel better now. great interview though until I started venting the fact is, everything changes for better or for worse whew
